thinkXML sprang out of a services business to make it easier to capture and transmit data in electronic business transactions. A review of the state of the market at the time convinced us that more efficient tools were needed to capture data in forms and integrate that data across company enterprise systems. In certain business applications, companies would waste tremendous resources to re-enter customer business information that was inefficiently captured using paper forms and transmitted using fax. Lead by Michael Pollard on the business side and Tamir Orbach on the technology side, the company solved these problems. We invested in the company in 2000 and the company was acquired by Zions Bank in 2001, as part of an effort to create a portfolio of software solutions to enable business transactions.
